Transfer Finish Puts Color into MDF :

In a hotly contested furniture market, furniture manufacturers have to aim not just to maintain their market share but to increase it. One way to achieve this objective is by creating a unique or distinctive selling position for their own products over the competition through improvements to appearance and quality can be achieved without added cost, this provides an added knock-on economic benefit for the furniture producer.

The transfer finish technique used on MDF panels opens up greater scope for the improvements of furniture components than is possible with soft forming. As MDF panels have a homogenous central core, the edges can be coated directly using transfer finish foil. Alternatively, chipboard panels to be coated using transfer finish foil.

 When Processing MDF panels, the furniture components are profiled on double –end tenoners and coated with a transfer finish foil. This allows the glue joint to be completely eliminated for a vastly improved result in terms of both design & quality. The individual processing steps include work piece sizing and profiling, sanding the profile, coating with a transfer finish foil and finish processing.
