Ashley Furniture HomeStore is opening a new retail furniture outlet next month at Batavia Commons, company officials announced Wednesday. Opening date for the new outlet is anticipated to be mid to late August, according to company officials. The store will be in the former FYE music store on West Main Street across from the Tops Supermarket. This will be the first free-standing clearance outlet of Ashley furniture for the company, which owns and operates the six Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the region as well as a distribution center on West Saile Drive in Batavia’s Gateway II Corporate Park. The new Ashley Furniture HomeStore Outlet will retail scratch-and-dent furniture currently warehoused in the Batavia distribution center; furniture collections discontinued by the manufacturer; special close-out buys from Ashley Industries and brand new furniture from collections at the retailer’s most popular price points. Ashley Furniture operates retail showrooms in six locations including Buffalo, Rochester, Horseheads and Olean. The six western New York HomeStores are owned and operated by Wellsville Carpet Town, Inc., a regional furniture retail company in business for more than 40 years.
